Enhancing Tourism, Investments, FTA, Trade and Business Opportunities between Thailand-Pakistan
Ambassador Chakkrid Krachaiwong and Mr. Khemathat Archawathamrong, Director of Thai Trade Center had fruitful meetings with Presidents of the Lahore and Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industries on ways to enhance bilateral trade and business cooperation between Thailand and Pakistan.
Ambassador Chakkrid emphasized that Thailand sees Pakistan as a strategic gateway towards Central Asia and Middle East. Both sides will definitely benefit from each other strength even more once the Pakistan-Thailand FTA is finalized. Pakistani businessmen were invited to participate more in Thailand’s trade fairs which are also great business matching opportunities with potential Thai business partners. Given Pakistan’s abundant resources, he believed there is potential for joint investments in food-related industries including food processing and fruit dehydration. He also talked about tourism which is an area that Thailand can share experiences with Pakistan especially in sustainable tourism and hospitality services which Thailand has expertise. With Thai Airways flying five times on route Lahore-Bangkok and four times on route Islamabad-Bangkok, Thailand looks toward seeing more two-way exchanges of business delegations and tourists from both sides
