การพัฒนาพื้นที่ชายแดนไทย-มาเลเซีย และการเชื่อมโยงการคมนาคมขนส่ง
เมื่อวันที่ 7 กันยายน 2569 นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้เข้าร่วมการหารือข้อราชการในช่วงอาหารกลางวัน (Working Lunch) กับรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศมาเลเซีย และพบหารือกับเลขาธิการสภาความมั่นคงแห่งชาติมาเลเซีย ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์
การเยือนมาเลเซียครั้งนี้เป็นโอกาสให้รองนายกรัฐมนตรีฯ ได้ติดตามผลการเยือนมาเลเซียอย่างเป็นทางการของนายกรัฐมนตรี เมื่อวันที่ 9 – 10 กรกฎาคม 2569 รวมถึงประเด็นสืบเนื่องจากการประชุมคณะรัฐมนตรีสัญจร เมื่อวันที่ 1 กันยายน 2569 ที่จังหวัดสงขลา และแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นกับฝ่ายมาเลเซียเกี่ยวกับประเด็นที่เป็นผลประโยชน์ร่วมกันของทั้งสองประเทศ โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องที่จะเพิ่มความร่วมมือด้านความมั่นคงชายแดน การพัฒนาพื้นที่ชายแดนไทย-มาเลเซีย และการเชื่อมโยงการคมนาคมขนส่ง เพื่อยกระดับการพัฒนาและความเป็นอยู่ของประชาชน โดยใช้กลไกทวิภาคีที่มีอยู่ในปัจจุบันอย่างเต็มที่และมีการประสานงานกันอย่างใกล้ชิด
นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือกันเกี่ยวกับ กระบวนการพูดคุยสันติสุขจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้
โดยมาเลเซียเป็นผู้อำนวยความสะดวก และความสำคัญของการสร้างบรรยากาศที่เอื้อต่อการเดินหน้า โดยเฉพาะการลดความรุนแรงในพื้นที่
ทั้งนี้ รองนายกรัฐมนตรีฯ จะเป็นประธานการประชุมคณะกรรมาธิการร่วมว่าด้วยความร่วมมือทวิภาคี (Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation: JC) ครั้งที่ 16 และการประชุมคณะกรรมการว่าด้วยยุทธศาสตร์การพัฒนาร่วมสำหรับพื้นที่ชายแดน (Joint Development Strategy for Border Areas: JDS) ระดับรัฐมนตรี ครั้งที่ 7 ระหว่างไทยกับมาเลเซีย ร่วมกับรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศมาเลเซีย ในช่วงปลายเดือนตุลาคมนี้
On 7 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, attended a working lunch hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, and held a meeting with the Director-General of the National Security Council of Malaysia, on the occasion of the Deputy Prime Minister’s working visit to Malaysia.
The working visit provided an opportunity for the Deputy Prime Minister to follow up on the outcomes of the official visit of the Thai Prime Minister to Malaysia on 9-10 July 2026 as well as the roving cabinet meeting on 1 September 2026 in Songkhla. The two Ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation on border security, development of border areas, and connectivity to uplift people’s livelihood. Both sides are committed to coordinating more closely under existing bilateral mechanisms.
In addition, the two sides discussed Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces peace dialogue process for which Malaysia serves as a facilitator and the importance of creating an atmosphere conducive to moving forward, especially the reduction of violence in the area.
The Deputy Prime Minister will co-host the 16th Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JC) and the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Joint Development Strategy for Border Areas (JDS) between Thailand and Malaysia, with the Foreign Minister of Malaysia in late October.
