นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เป็นประธานเทศกาลสงกรานต์ ณ วัดญาณประทีป นครโอ๊คแลนด์ พร้อมพบปะชุมชนชาวไทยในนิวซีแลนด์
และครอบครัวอย่างใกล้ชิด
งานสงกรานต์ ณ วัดญาณประทีป เป็นกิจกรรมที่วัดและชุมชนไทยร่วมกันจัดขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องเป็นประจำทุกปี โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสืบสานประเพณีสงกรานต์ และนำเสนอวัฒนธรรมไทยแก่ชาวนิวซีแลนด์ กิจกรรมภายในงานในปีนี้ประกอบด้วย พิธีทำบุญตักบาตร สรงน้ำพระ การรดน้ำดำหัวผู้อาวุโส การแสดงศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย ตลอดจนการออกร้านจำหน่ายอาหารและสินค้าไทย
การเข้าร่วมงานสงกรานต์และพบปะชุมชนไทยดังกล่าวเป็นความมุ่งมั่นของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ในการส่งเสริมการจัดงานเทศกาลสงกรานต์ในต่างประเทศเพื่อเผยแพร่และสร้างความเข้าใจที่ถูกต้องเกี่ยวกับวัฒนธรรมไทย โดยเฉพาะหลังจากที่ “สงกรานต์ในประเทศไทย, ประเพณีปีใหม่ไทย” ได้รับการขึ้นทะเบียนในบัญชีรายชื่อตัวแทนมรดกวัฒนธรรมที่จับต้องไม่ได้แห่งมวลมนุษยชาติ (Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) ขององค์การยูเนสโก เมื่อปี 2566 อีกทั้งยังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของภารกิจด้านการกงสุลในการเสริมสร้างความเข้มแข็งให้กับชุมชนไทยในต่างประเทศด้วย
On 13 April 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, presided over the opening ceremony of the Songkran Festival at Watyarnprateep Buddhist Temple in Auckland. The event was attended by many Thais and New Zealanders. On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs visited Thai communities in New Zealand.
Held annually, the Songkran Festival at Watyarnprateep Buddhist Temple is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Thai communities in Auckland. The festival features a variety of activities, including alms offering to monks, merit-making ceremonies, and stalls offering Thai products and cuisine, among others.
The visit constitutes a part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand’s campaign in promoting the Songkran Festival internationally, especially after “Songkran in Thailand, traditional Thai New Year festival” was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2023. It is also a part of the Department of Consular Affairs’ objectives in strengthening the Thai communities abroad.
