กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองการาจี ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนในการสัมมนา หัวข้อ “Pakistan-ASEAN Relation: Road to Growth & Prosperity”
ที่โรงแรม Marriott Hotel Karachi ซึ่งจัดโดย Pakistan Council on Foreign Relations (PCFR) โดยเชิญกงสุลใหญ่และสำนักงานประเทศอาเซียนประจำเมืองการาจีเข้าร่วมการสัมมนาด้วย ได้แก่ กงสุลใหญ่อินโดนีเซีย มาเลเซีย กงสุลใหญ่กิตติมศักดิ์ฟิลิปปินส์ และผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานการค้าเวียดนาม โดยมีคณะกงสุลต่างประเทศประจำเมืองการาจีและนักธุรกิจปากีสถานประมาณ 100 คน เข้าร่วมการสัมมนาดังกล่าว
ในการสัมมนากงสุลใหญ่เน้นความสำคัญของความร่วมมือด้านการเมืองและความมั่นคง โดยเฉพาะการต่อต้านการก่อการร้ายและอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติ ความสำคัญของความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ โดยอาเซียนเป็นตลาดที่สำคัญและปากีสถานเป็นประเทศคู่ค้าสำคัญของไทย รวมทั้งกล่าวถึงการติดต่อในระดับประชาชนของสองฝ่ายและการพัฒนาทรัพยากรมนุษย์ เพื่อสร้างความเชื่อมั่นและส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวระหว่างภูมิภาค
นอกจากนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ยังกล่าวสนับสนุนการดำเนินการที่มุ่งไปสู่อนาคตที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมและมีความยั่งยืน โดยกล่าวถึงการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมไทยไปสู่รูปแบบBCG Economy Model ซึ่งเกี่ยวข้องกับการแก้ไขปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศและความไม่เท่าเทียม โดยเน้นความจำเป็นของความร่วมมือทั้งระดับทวิภาคีและภูมิภาค เพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์อาเซียน – ปากีสถาน รวมทั้งส่งเสริมความร่วมมือที่มีผลในทางปฏิบัติ
On 9 September 2023, Mr. Narut Soontarodom, Consul General of Thailand in Karachi, joined the panelists in the Seminar on “Pakistan-ASEAN Relation: Road to Growth & Prosperity” at Marriott Hotel Karachi. The event was organized by the Pakistan Council on Foreign Relations (PCFR), and attended by all ASEAN Missions in Karachi, namely Consuls General of Indonesia and Malaysia as well as Honorary Consul General of the Philippines and Head of Vietnam Trade Mission. About 100 members of the Consular Corps in Karachi and the Pakistani business community took part in the event.
The Consul General stressed the need for political and security cooperation, particularly in countering terrorism and transnational crime, emphasized economic cooperation, citing ASEAN as a significant market and Pakistan as an essential trade partner for Thailand. He also focused on people-to-people exchanges and human resource development as a means to build trust and promote tourism between the regions.
In addition, he advocated for a green and sustainable future, discussing Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model and its relevance in addressing climate change and inequality. The Consul General concluded with an expressed eagerness to collaborate at various levels, both bilaterally and within regional organizations, to advance ASEAN-Pakistan relations and promote practical cooperation
