เพราะการครอบงำด้วยกำลังไม่เคยสร้างความยั่งยืน และชัยชนะที่ได้จากความหวาดกลัว ย่อมไม่อาจแปรเปลี่ยนเป็นสันติภาพที่แท้จริง
ด้วยเหตุนี้ สถาบันโพธิคยาวิชชาลัย 980 จึงมุ่งพัฒนามนุษย์อีกแบบหนึ่ง—ไม่ใช่มนุษย์ที่เก่งในการแข่งขันเพียงอย่างเดียว แต่เป็นมนุษย์ที่มี ความรับผิดชอบต่อผลกระทบของการกระทำตนเองต่อโลก เราเรียกบุคคลเช่นนี้ว่า “นักธุรกิจหัวใจพุทธ” ผู้ยึดมั่นในหลัก สัมมาอาชีวะ (Right Livelihood) เป็นรากฐานของการตัดสินใจทางเศรษฐกิจ
ในโลกที่สนามการค้ากลายเป็นพื้นที่ของการเอาเปรียบ การกีดกัน และการใช้พลังเหนือผู้อื่น สัมมาอาชีวะไม่ใช่ศีลธรรมส่วนบุคคล หากคือ กรอบจริยธรรมเชิงระบบ ที่สามารถเปลี่ยนตรรกะของตลาดจากการแสวงหากำไรสูงสุด ไปสู่การสร้างคุณค่าร่วม (shared value) และความเกื้อกูลระหว่างมนุษย์ สังคม และสิ่งแวดล้อม
การค้าในมุมมองนี้จึงไม่ใช่สงครามรูปแบบใหม่ แต่คือพื้นที่ฝึกจิต ฝึกปัญญา และฝึกความรับผิดชอบต่อมนุษยชาติร่วมกัน เมื่อธุรกิจไม่แยกขาดจากศีลธรรม เศรษฐกิจย่อมไม่แยกขาดจากสันติภาพ
