นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศเข้าร่วมการประชุม Samvad ครั้งที่ 4 หัวข้อ “The Asian Century for Dharma-Dhamma
ซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดยมูลนิธิ Vivekananda International Foundation ของอินเดียร่วมกับสถาบันโพธิคยาวิชชาลัย 980 ภายใต้การสนับสนุนของมหาวิทยาลัยมหาจุฬาลงกรณ์ราชวิทยาลัย องค์กร International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) และมูลนิธิ India & Japan Foundation ณ ศูนย์ประชุมสหประชาชาติ กรุงเทพฯ โดยมีผู้นำทางศาสนาและจิตวิญญาณ ผู้นำทางการเมือง ผู้แทนภาคเอกชนและนักวิชาการจากทั่วโลกเข้าร่วม
ในโอกาสนี้ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้เป็นประธานร่วมในการหารือกลุ่มย่อยในหัวข้อการสร้างความตระหนักรู้ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยกล่าวว่า ธรรมะของศาสนาพุทธคือหลักปรัชญาแห่งธรรมชาติ ในขณะที่ในปัจจุบันโลกกำลังเผชิญกับปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศและภัยพิบัติทางธรรมชาติที่รุนแรง การใช้ธรรมะของพระพุทธศาสนาในการอยู่ร่วมกันกับธรรมชาติด้วยความเคารพและเกื้อกูล จึงเป็นแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างยั่งยืน นอกจากนี้ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศยังได้กล่าวชื่นชมบทบาท ของเยาวชนและคนรุ่นใหม่ที่มีความตระหนักรู้ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม และจะเป็นกำลังสำคัญในการรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อม ที่ยั่งยืนต่อไปในอนาคต
On 14 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, participated in the Samvad IV conference on the theme “The Asian Century for Dharma-Dhamma”, jointly organized by the Vivekananda International Foundation of India and the BodhiGayā Vijjālaya 980 Institute in association with Mahachulalongkornrajyavidyalaya University, International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) and India & Japan Foundation, held at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok. Participants of the event included religious and spiritual leaders, political leaders, representatives from the private sector, and scholars from around the world.
On this occasion, the Minister co-chaired a parallel session on the topic “Environmental Consciousness”. He stated that the Dharma of Buddhism is a philosophy of nature. Currently, the world is facing severe climate change and natural disasters, Dhamma offers the sustainable approach to live in harmonious coexistence with respect for nature. Furthermore, the Minister commended the role of the youth and the new generation for their environmental awareness, noting that they will be a key force in maintaining a sustainable environment in the future.
