กระทรวงการต่างประเทศร่วมกับกรมศิลปากรนำคณะทูตและสื่อมวลชนต่างประเทศในไทยเรียนรู้ประวัติศาสตร์และโบราณคดีอยุธยา
ผ่านนิทรรศการ “เครื่องทองอยุธยา”
วันที่ ๑๓ กันยายน ๒๕๖๖ นางกาญจนา ภัทรโชค อธิบดีกรมสารนิเทศ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ นำคณะทูตต่างประเทศ องค์การระหว่างประเทศ และสื่อมวลชนต่างประเทศประจำประเทศไทย เยี่ยมชมนิทรรศการเครื่องทองอยุธยา ณ พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติเจ้าสามพระยา จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา โดยมีนายสมพจน์ สุขาบูลย์ ผู้อำนวยการพิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติ เจ้าสามพระยา ให้การต้อนรับ พร้อมด้วยภัณฑารักษ์ของกรมศิลปากร และภัณฑารักษ์อาสาสมัครชาวต่างประเทศภายใต้โครงการ National Museum Volunteer พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติ พระนคร เข้าร่วมการบรรยายและนำชม
กิจกรรมดังกล่าวเปิดโอกาสให้คณะได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับประวัติศาสตร์และโบราณคดีอยุธยาผ่านการจัดแสดงเครื่องทองที่พบจากกรุวัดราชบูรณะ ทั้งเครื่องทองของพระมหากษัตริย์ในอดีตและเครื่องทองที่จัดสร้างขึ้นเพื่อถวายเป็นพุทธบูชาและเครื่องอุทิศเนื้อหาคติการบรรจุพระบรมสารีริกธาตุ ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างอยุธยากับดินแดนต่าง ๆผ่านการเชื่อมโยงทางพุทธศาสนา และพระบรมสารีริกธาตุที่พบในโบราณสถานต่าง ๆในจังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา
กิจกรรมดังกล่าวมีเอกอัครราชทูต ผู้แทนสถานเอกอัครราชทูต และศูนย์วัฒนธรรมต่างประเทศในไทย จำนวน ๒๖ ประเทศ พร้อมด้วยผู้แทนสำนักงานยูเนสโกประจำประเทศไทย และสื่อมวลชนต่างประเทศอีกกว่า ๑๓ สำนักเข้าร่วม และเป็นกิจกรรมต่อเนื่องจากกิจกรรม Night at the Museum: A Journey through Time ซึ่งกระทรวงการต่างประเทศร่วมกับกรมศิลปากรจัดขึ้น ณ พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติ พระนคร เมื่อเดือนมีนาคม ๒๕๖๖ รวมทั้งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมเสริมสร้างองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับประเทศไทยแก่คณะทูตและสื่อมวลชนต่างประเทศประจำประเทศไทย เพื่อส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์และความเชื่อมั่นประเทศไทย ส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยว และเป็นโอกาสเผยแพร่งานด้านโบราณคดีและพิพิธภัณฑ์ของไทยแก่ต่างประเทศซึ่งอาจนำไปสู่การต่อยอดและขยายความร่วมมือต่อไปในอนาคต
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Fine Arts Department lead the Diplomatic Corps and Foreign Media to uncover Ayutthaya’s hidden Treasure Trove
On 13 September 2023, Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Director-General of the Department of Information led the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of International Organizations and foreign media in Thailand on a visit to the Ayutthaya Gold Treasure Exhibition, Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, Ayutthaya Province. At the Exhibition, the participants were warmly welcomed by Mr. Somphot Sukaboon, Director of Chao Sam Phraya National Museum. Curators from the Office of National Museums as well as members of the National Museum Volunteers (NMV) who also joined and guided the different groups of participants.
The visit provided a unique opportunity for participants to explore Ayutthaya’s distinct history and archeology. The exhibition showcased exquisite gold treasures discovered inside the crypt of Wat Ratchaburana, including gold treasures of the kings and royal courts, and gold treasures used to worship the Lord Buddha, which underpin the traditional belief of enshrining Buddha relics and reflect the special relationship between Ayutthaya and foreign lands as told through the story of Buddhism. The exhibition also held Buddha relics unearthed from other archaeological sites in Ayutthaya.
The participants included Ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions and foreign cultural centers in Thailand from 26 countries as well as a representative of UNESCO Bangkok and 13 foreign media agencies in Thailand. The visit was part of the activities organized by the Ministry to promote better understanding about Thailand among Diplomatic Corps and foreign media. It also provided an opportunity to promote local tourism as well as museums and archeological works in Thailand to foreigners, which could also lead to further cooperation between the two sides in the future
