พบหารือกับเจ้าชายชิฮาบ บิน ฏอริก บิน ตัยมูร อัล ซะอีด รองนายกรัฐมนตรีฝ่ายกลาโหมแห่งรัฐสุลต่านโอมาน
เมื่อวันที่ 15 เมษายน 2569 นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้พบหารือกับเจ้าชายชิฮาบ บิน ฏอริก บิน ตัยมูร อัล ซะอีด รองนายกรัฐมนตรีฝ่ายกลาโหมแห่งรัฐสุลต่านโอมาน และพลเรือตรี ซาอิฟ บิน นัสเซอร์ อัล ราห์บี ผู้บัญชาการทหารเรือโอมาน ณ กรุงมัสกัต ในโอกาสการเยือนโอมานอย่างเป็นทางการ โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ในภูมิภาคตะวันออกกลางและการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านกลาโหม
รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศแสดงความขอบคุณต่อฝ่ายโอมานและกองทัพเรือโอมานที่ได้ให้ความช่วยเหลือลูกเรือไทยจำนวน 20 คนจากเรือ “มยุรี นารี” และอำนวยความสะดวกให้สามารถเดินทางกลับประเทศไทยได้อย่างปลอดภัย พร้อมทั้งขอรับการสนับสนุนจากฝ่ายโอมานเพื่อหาแนวทางอำนวยความสะดวกให้เรือไทยสามารถเดินเรือผ่านช่องแคบฮอร์มุซได้อย่างปลอดภัย รวมถึงการกู้เรือ “มยุรี นารี”
ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ในตะวันออกกลาง และการรักษาเสรีภาพในการเดินเรือและความปลอดภัยของเส้นทางคมนาคมทางทะเล โดยเฉพาะในบริเวณช่องแคบฮอร์มุซ โดยฝ่ายไทยได้แสดงความชื่นชมต่อบทบาทของโอมานในการดำรงท่าทีที่เป็นกลางและสร้างสรรค์ และแสดงความห่วงกังวลต่อสถานการณ์ความตึงเครียดในภูมิภาค ตลอดจนแสดงความพร้อมของไทยในการสนับสนุนโอมานในเพื่อทำหน้าที่เป็นตัวกลางในการลดความตึงเครียดในภูมิภาค
นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้แสดงความพร้อมในการส่งเสริมความร่วมมืออย่างรอบด้าน โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งความร่วมมือด้านอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ โดยต่อยอดจากที่กระทรวงกลาโหมโอมานได้ลงนามสัญญากับบริษัท มาร์ซัน จำกัด (มหาชน) ของไทยเมื่อปี 2567 ในการจัดหาเรือให้แก่กองทัพเรือโอมาน ซึ่งนับเป็นความร่วมมือที่เป็นรูปธรรมระหว่างสองประเทศในอุตสาหกรรมป้องกัน และเป็นพื้นฐานสำคัญในการต่อยอดความร่วมมือด้านการป้องกันประเทศที่ใกล้ชิดยิ่งขึ้นในอนาคต
On 15 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.H. Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik bin Taimur Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, and Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, in Muscat during his official visit to Oman. Both sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and discussed ways to enhance security cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed appreciation to the Omani side and the Royal Navy of Oman for their assistance to 20 Thai crew members from the vessel “Mayuree Naree” and for facilitating their safe return to Thailand. He requested Oman’s support in facilitating the safe passage of Thai vessels. Thailand also sought Oman’s support in the salvage of the vessel “Mayuree Naree”.
Both sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation and the safety of maritime routes, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz. The Thai side commended Oman’s role in maintaining a neutral and constructive stance and expressed concern over the heightened tensions in the region, while seeking Oman’s views on recent developments and reaffirming Thailand’s readiness to support Oman’s role as a mediator in efforts to ease tensions. Both sides underscored the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in de-escalating tensions and achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
In addition, both sides expressed readiness to further promote comprehensive cooperation, including in defence industries. This builds upon the contract signed in 2024 between the Ministry of Defence of Oman and Marsun Public Company Limited of Thailand for the procurement of vessels for the Royal Navy of Oman. The agreement represents a tangible area of cooperation between the two countries in the defence industry and provides an important foundation for further enhancing close defence cooperation in the future.
